fire started just after midnight and check out these pictures posted online overnight on the daily cal website showing how intense that fire became. five people were living in a duplex. they all got out safely including a woman in a wheelchair who had to be helped out by police. four homes surrounding this one were also evacuated as a precaution. those people have been allowed back in except for the family of five that is homeless this morning. firefighters in the meantime are evaluating the damage. >> during the firefight, there was a collapse of the roof and second floor which resulted in us backing out of the building and fighting the fire defensively. this is where we put our ladder trucks and spray water from the temperatures to of the roof and hose lines into the windows -- water from the tops of the roof and hose lines into the windows. >> reporter: part of the roof collapsed falling on the first story. but firefighters pulled back before that happened. nobody was hurt. now, there was some talk that maybe a propane tank may have been involved in starting this fire. firefighters

just checked in with cal trans and there's still road work. i talked about a pretty major road closure in san francisco. it continues through wednesday of this week. howard street is shut down between 3rd and 4th. it's been closed for a separate conference. been causing pretty bad traffic tie ups in that area. avoid it if you can. otherwise, down along the peninsula, more road work on westbound 92 to southbound 280 connecter ramp. coming up a check of mass transit. it is spare the air day. encouraged to use mass transit if you can. back to you guys. >> thank you. right now the coast guard is leading the search from two fisherman. they were thrown from a boat that capsized. alisa is on the coast with the latest on the search. >> reporter: good morning. that search continues throughout the night. the coast guard has a boat on the water searching for those two fisherman. they've been missing since yesterday morning when they were hit by a large wave and flipped over. this was off the san mateo coast near pigeon point. four people were on board an

he just graduated from cal state sacramento actuall in spring. he also told me how this whole morning started. they have smoke detectors in the house. they also had a second security system that called them to alert them that there was basically -- their alarms were going off to make sure they were okay. the father in the household got awoken by the smoke alarm, called the son and they were able to get out safely. the call came in for firefighters around 3:15 this morning as a brush fire. when crews got here on scene, half of the house was in flames. they say the flames were shooting up to 30 feet high. vallejo fire department has a call in the support of american canyon fairfield and cordelia and because of that, they were able to attack it aggressively and quickly and offensively. they were able to go inside and make sure that they salvaged as much as of the house as they could. we smoke to the battalion chief on scene who said the biggest challenge was the size of the house. >> this is a big old house. a lot of rooms off this. crews went throu

we also got a cal game so, whew, there's just so much going on! ! it makes me exhaust the just to talk about it. so it's going to be a busy weekend. use mass transit if you can. bart ferries muni are all stepping up service. bart told us they have not seen such numbers since they shut the bay bridge down and the giants victory parade a huge record setting day for bart. bart had two of its top ten ridership days already this week and they expect the numbers to go through the roof this weekend. san francisco's mayor says they can handle all the crowds and we're good to go for this weekend. so hopefully, traffic-wise, this is the calm before the big storm happening this weekend. for the latest on traffic conditions on the roads let's go inside to gianna. >> thank you. should be a very fun weekend in san francisco. in fact, most of the bay area. so far, we are not seeing too much this friday morning as far as accidents go. however, the bay bridge is starting to get a bit busy. they haven't turned on the metering lights. looks like the busiest are those
